HireSLU (hireslu.com) is a job board connecting job seekers and employers in St. Lucia and the wider Caribbean. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed), country, and your role (job seeker or employer).
• CV and profile information: work history, education, skills, contact details, photo, and any CV or resume file you upload.
• Applications: the jobs you apply to, cover letters, and the status of each application.
• Messages: messages you exchange with employers or job seekers through the site.
• Employer information: company name, contact details, and the job postings you publish.
• Technical information: IP address, browser type, and basic server logs needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

• To create and manage your account and provide the job board.
• To let you apply for jobs and let employers review applications.
• To send service emails such as verification, password reset, application updates and job alerts you request.
• To keep the platform safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
• To meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

When you apply for a job, the employer who posted it receives your application, including the profile and CV details you submit. If you make a profile or CV public or searchable, other users may see it as described on the relevant page. We use service providers (for example hosting and email delivery) who process data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep some records for legal, security or dispute purposes. Employers who have already received your application may keep their own copy.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to certain uses. Many details can be edited in your profile. For anything else, use the contact form and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Company reviews

If you write a company review, it is shown anonymously. We store which account wrote it only to prevent duplicates, moderate abuse and meet legal requests, and we do not show it to employers or other users.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

HireSLU is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the country of the site you use.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
